Howe hopes to make further additions

Howe has signed Tyrone Mings, Sylvain Distin, Joshua King, Adam Federici and Artur Boruc on permanent deals so far this summer, while Christian Atsu has joined on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

Howe is happy with the business he has done so far but has refused to rule out more forays into the transfer market.

“I’m happy with all the players we’ve signed,” he told the Bournemouth Echo. “It’s taken a lot of hard work to get them in and they will all have a big part to play for us. They have all got different strengths and attributes.

“One thing we looked at is the pace and strength of the squad and going into the Premier League, I felt that was an area we needed to look at and adjust and I think we’ve ticked those boxes.

“I’m happy and content with the squad but never satisfied. You never think it’s the end. From my perspective, you are always looking for something to help the team.

“I hope we can add further to the group. In my own mind we’re not done yet in terms of what we want to do and where we want to take the squad.

“We’re not going to say we’re finished with our recruitment but it all depends on finding the right player for the right price and whether you can get them.

“There won’t be huge numbers if we do recruit more players and they have got to be the right players.

“If it’s a choice between rushing or making a bad decision, I’d rather do nothing.”

One of the signings, Atsu, is looking forward to working for Howe and confident the Cherries can enjoy a good maiden season in the Premier League.

“I know I will be working with one of the best coaches in England,” Atsu told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“He [Eddie Howe] is the coach in England and I know I will do well under him.

“I am really looking forward to working with my new coach and I believe good things will happen this coming season.”
