Stoke boss Mark Hughes admitted Leicester “deserved their win” after the Potters’ 3-0 defeat at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
Goals from Danny Drinkwater, Jamie Vardy and Leonardo Ulloa sealed the victory for Leicester and Hughes acknowledged after the match that Stoke were below par.
Hughes told BBC Sport: “It is very difficult to win points in the Premier League if you have not got everyone at a good level.
“For some reason we were a bit below the high standards we set. In certain situations we needed to produce an end product and on too many occasions we didn’t.
“In the end we were well beaten, Leicester City deserved their win today.”
The Welshman added: “We’ll be looking to bounce back quickly – we have managed to do that more often than not. We have a huge game on Tuesday and I expect my team to respond very quickly.”
