Mark Hughes: Wants to get back to basics

Stoke boss Mark Hughes admitted his team made mistakes at key times after their 3-0 defeat at Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.

Goals from Romelu Lukaku from the penalty spot, Seamus Coleman and Aaron Lennon sealed the win for Everton, while Stoke lost their fourth match in a row in the Premier League.

Hughes told BBC Sport: “We huffed and puffed and didn’t really create again and that is a concern for us. A disappointing day. We made mistakes at key times in the game and couldn’t recover.

“We have to pick ourselves up and start doing the fundamentals and basics.”
