Hyde could return to face Cobblers

Veteran midfielder Hyde was left out of the squad altogether on Boxing Day but after Hendon saw his side hammered 4-0 at Aldershot, the manager may hand the former Watford man a recall.

Goalkeeper Jake Cole came through 90 minutes unscathed after a recent adductor muscle strain and will continue, while full-back Joe Devera also lasted the game on his return from a thigh injury.

Gary Breen and Clovis Kamdjo (both knee) remain sidelined but

Ryan O’Neill is back from an ankle injury while winger Albert Adomah, who is expected to leave Underhill next month, is also fit after an ankle problem of his own.

Meanshile, Hendon bemoaned his side’s performance after the heavy loss at the hands of Aldershot.

The Bees have now lost seven away league matches in a row and Hendon insists things must improve quickly.

Hendon said: “I’m very disappointed with what I saw. We’ve got to be better than that and all we can do is get back on the training pitch and keep working hard.

“But I have to apologise to our fans, who have travelled down to see that performance.

“We’ll get straight back to the training ground and get back to working hard because that wasn’t good enough. We fell apart in the second half.”

Hendon added: “Luckily we’ve got a game coming up very soon and hopefully we can put a few things right as quickly as possible.”
