Real Madrid are reportedly focusing on Harry Kane as their top strike target to replace Karim Benzema after being snubbed by Mauro Icardi.
The Spanish giants have really struggled for goals this season, leading to plenty of speculation that the misfiring Benzema will be replaced either in January or more likely next summer.
The France international, who has struggled with injuries in recent seasons, has scored just twice this campaign and it is thought that Zinedine Zidane has run out of patience with his fellow countryman.
Inter Milan star Icardi had been rumoured to be Real’s top target to replace Benzema but he has given a massive thumbs down to talk of £100m deal being struck in January, leaving Real to focus on Kane, according to Don Balon.
The Spurs star has been sensational since breaking into the first-team in 2014 and although he is fully committed to the club, the report claims that that will not stop Real trying to lure him away.
Any potential deal with Tottenham will prove tricky – if Real’s negotiations with the north London side over the arrival Gareth Bale back in 2013 are anything to go by.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy struck a hard bargain over the Wales star and would almost certainly play even harder ball over Kane, who the club have stated in the past is not for sale at any price.
