Lorenzo Insigne intends to end his career with Napoli, scuppering hopes Arsene Wenger might have had of bringing the striker to the Premier League.
The Gunners have maintained an interest in the Italy forward for some time and were first linked with the player in the summer of 2014.
There were suggestions that Arsenal would look to resurrect their interest again this summer, while Wenger was also linked with his Napoli team-mate Gonzalo Higuain, as well as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Karim Benzema.
But any chance Arsenal had of targeting the player in January appear to have been extinguished by the striker’s agent, who insists his client has no desire to leave the Stadio San Paolo.
“Lorenzo’s will is to stay at Napoli for life,” Antonio Ottaiano told Radio Marte. “But of course it takes two to share a relationship like that.
“There are no problems, unless the club decides to terminate the relationship. But for now there are no problems.”
