Erik Lamela: Second-half goal in vain

Spurs have been alerted as Inter Milan have opened talks to take one of their midfielders back to Serie A, a report claims.

According to Sky Italia, the Italian giants want to take advantage of Erik Lamela’s lack of game time at Tottenham to lure the winger back to Serie A.

However, the report does claim that Inter may decide to wait and pursue the Argentine at the end of the season rather than in January.

Lamela has struggled with injuries so far this season and his found himself somewhat out of favour under Mauricio Pochettino.

The former Roma star has made just 13 appearances in all competitions, amassing two assists.

Current Inter director of football Walter Sabatini brought the 25-year-old to Roma from River Plate in summer 2011 and sold him to Tottenham two years later in a deal worth £30million.

Now, Sky in Italy believe Sabatini and Lamela could reunite at Inter.

Meanwhile, reports on Thursday in La Roma 24 claimed that Tottenham offered Roma the chance to re-sign their former star this month.
