Inter Milan are reportedly planning to sign Liverpool target Samir Handanovic to a contract extension.

The Nerazzurri are looking to add at least another year on the goalkeeper’s current deal, which runs out in 2019, according to Calciomercato’s Fabrizio Romano.

The report states that the player’s agent, Fali Ramadani, is keen to get the new deal done, while Inter are also looking to bring in a young keeper to work alongside the former Slovenia international.

The new deal would see the 33-year-old earn €2.5million-a-year and virtually see him through until the end of his career, while Inter will continue to search for a long-term replacement.

Handanovic was linked with a move to Anfield in the early part of the summer, as doubts continued over whether Jurgen Klopp still wanted to persist with either Simon Mignolet or Loris Karius.

The duo have once again split game time in the early part of the season, while Danny Ward started the League Cup defeat to Leicester on Tuesday night.
