Marcelo Brozovic: Midfielder currently on loan at Inter

Arsenal have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, with the Italian outfit wanting to cash in on the Croatian, according to reports.

Brozovic is currently on loan at the San Siro from Dinamo Zagreb, although Arsenal are understood to have been long-term admirers of the 23-year-old.

Inter have an option to make Brozovic’s deal permanent, and according to Tuttosport, Roberto Mancini wants to sign the Croatia international before selling him on again.

Former Manchester City boss Mancini wants to use the profit generated to fund a move for his main target, Sampdoria midfielder Roberto Soriano.

In January 2015, the Daily Mail reported Arsenal made a £6million bid for Brozovic, while last month it was suggested the Gunners were preparing a £18.3 million bid for the attacking midfielder.

Arsene Wenger is likely to seek midfield reinforcements in the summer with Mathieu Flamini, Tomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta expected to depart the club at the end of the season,

Brozovic has made 23 appearances in all competitions for Inter this term, scoring four goals and registering a further two assists.
