Antonio Conte: Wants to hurt Liverpool

Antonio Conte’s legal team are looking at various ways they can orchestrate a summer departure from Chelsea with Inter Milan looking to land their man, according to reports in Italy.

The Inter hierarchy are understood to have their doubts over Stefano Pioli’s ability to take the club in the right direction with Conte believed to be their number one target.

Tuttosport claims that representatives from both Conte’s legal team and the Blues have met, with the Italian’s men looking into ways of releasing him from his contract at Stamford Bridge.

The Suning Group – who own Inter – are thought to be prepared to pay a whopping €15 million net per season if he joins the Serie A side, while they are also looking to provide him with a massive war chest to bring in the best talent.

Chelsea are currently 10 points clear of second-placed Tottenham in the Premier League title race and if they win the league then Conte’s legal team are convinced they will persuade owner Roman Abramovich to let the Italian leave.

The report continues by saying that in recent months the relationship between Abramovich and Conte has soured.

However, while Inter’s interest may be genuine, it seems highly unlikely Conte will leave Chelsea this summer, with talks over a new deal for the Italian – to reward the fine job he has done at Stamford Bridge – more likely than an imminent exit.
