Luis Suarez has admitted once again that he “misses” Liverpool and it “was great to see the lads” after visiting his former club this week.
Suarez visited the club’s Melwood training ground on Tuesday, with the Uruguay striker enjoying a week off from his Barcelona duties.
The 29-year-old, who signed for Liverpool in January 2011 and left in summer 2014, met many of his former colleagues, with a ‘source’ telling the Liverpool Echo: “Luis is on holiday from Barcelona, and so has come to spend time with his old friends. We have relaxed the visitor regulations for him. He’s just chilling out in the canteen with his little girl and boy and will watch training.”
Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, Suarez said: “It was fantastic to see the lads.
“The people that work here are really nice and I miss them, so I wanted to come and see some friends. I have really good friends here.
“I had a really good moment here in three and a half years and when you have a really good moment in your life, it is something you remember.
“I always try to watch [Liverpool’s] games and look out for the results. I am very interested in how Liverpool are doing because they are so important in my life.”
