Gabriel Jesus has revealed that he has “spoken to” Manchester City target Dani Alves, but that the defender has given no indication on his future.
Alves is expected to join City this summer after saying his goodbyes to Italian champions Juventus.
Both Chelsea and Tottenham have also been linked with a move for the veteran right-back, but Alves’ relationship with City chief Pep Guardiola is thought to be a deciding factor.
The pair worked together with great success at Barcelona, and Alves is eager to test his talents in the Premier League, despite being in the twilight of his career.
City striker Jesus says he has spoken to his compatriot, but got nothing out of him.
“I spoke to him, but he didn’t specify what he’s going to do,” he told Esporte Interativo.
“We’ll see if it comes to fruition and Dani comes to City.
“I don’t know if there’s an offer but I think Guardiola can make a difference. Nothing is certain, but I hope he comes to City and we can celebrate it.”
