Jose Mourinho watched Marcus Rashford secure three points for Man Utd at Hull before hailing the youngster’s potential.
Rashford started on the bench at the KC Stadium but grabbed an injury-time winner in the Red Devils’ 1-0 success.
Questions have been raised over Mourinho’s willingness to develop young players since his appointment at Old Trafford, but he has vowed to give Rashford every opportunity to forge a career for himself at the top.
“Marcus Rashford has a lot of chances waiting for him. When the team was chasing the ball against Leicester in the Community Shield and tonight, he made a difference for us.
“He gives new problems to the opposition so I am really happy with him and the team. Even defensively, we controlled their counter attack.
The win maintains Man Utd’s 100% record under Mourinho, and he believes the manner of the victory over Hull underlines his side’s title credentials.
“We want to be champions, we don’t want to start well, we want to finish well.”
