Jose Mourinho’s treatment of Luke Shaw labelled ‘a disgrace’

Jose Mourinho’s treatment of Luke Shaw has been labelled “a disgrace” and the defender will consider his future at Man Utd in the summer, claims a report.

Sky Sports News quote a “source close to Shaw” has voiced their strong disapproval with the left-back’s treatment and says in any other line of work “there would be a case for constructive dismissal”.

After starting Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final clash against Brighton at Old Trafford, Shaw was once again left red-faced when Mourinho substituted him at half-time, leading to claims in the Daily Telegraph that some United stars feel he is being “bullied” and singled-out by his manager.

Mourinho was seen shouting at Shaw during the first half before hooking him at the break, with the Portuguese later explaining he wanted his team “to defend better”.

Shaw has more than a year remaining on his contract, but could now be facing another extended period out of the United first team, while reports on Monday morning suggested he could lead a 10-player player exodus at Old Trafford this summer.

Sky Sports quote a ‘source close to the player’: “Mourinho’s treatment of Luke is an absolute disgrace. If he has a problem with him, the decent thing to do would be to keep it in-house.

“If this kind of abuse happened in any other workplace, there would be a case for constructive dismissal. It’s disgusting. A few weeks ago, Mourinho was praising him; now he can’t do anything right.

“Luke’s a strong lad and he won’t let Mourinho ruin his life. He’ll consider his future in the summer and is still determined to be part of the England squad heading for Russia.”
