Judge’s verdict is Argyle victory

Date published: Monday 28th December 2009 5:22

Following Argyle’s 1-0 triumph at Cardiff at Boxing Day, Alan Judge opened the scoring against the Royals from the penalty spot at Home Park and netted his second between efforts from Kari Arnason and Ashley Barnes.

Reading caretaker boss Brian McDermott is still looking for his first win and he oversaw a desolate display, brightened only by Gylfi Sigurdsson’s sixth goal of the season.

Ivar Ingimarsson fouled Mackie for Judge’s spot-kick opener (13) and on 59 minutes, Arnason headed home Judge’s corner to double the home side’s lead.

Three minutes later, Sigurdsson headed home a McAnuff cross but Judge quickly nodded in Chris Clark’s cross and Barnes turned home a loose ball (84) to seal it.
