Klopp pinpoints exactly how West Ham will set up at Anfield

Jurgen Klopp is not under-estimating the challenge that West Ham will pose to Liverpool at Anfield tomorrow.

The Hammers are 12th in the table, but are just four points ahead of the drop zone and have won just twice away from the London Stadium all season.

They will also be missing key players tomorrow, but Klopp is still wary.

“Chicharito, Carroll out, Masuaku suspended,” said Klopp.

“They changed system and they’re just very mature right now. They’re not safe right now, but it’s more positive for them.

“They’re in a good moment right now. At moments you play against a wall of eight, and they have quick players who are a little bit hidden for the counter.

“We all know that, it’s not easy. The good thing is we had time to prepare and that’s a help and that’s why it’s a different game to Porto.

“It’s good organisation a clear plan. David is very experienced and knows what he’s doing.”

Klopp was also asked about the club’s progress at his Melwood news conference and whether he was happy with it.

“I’m absolutely not happy,” added Klopp. “I want to be happy at the end of the season. It’s not a word I have in my mind right now.

“Sometimes more, sometimes less. Immediately after the game against Porto, it was all about West Ham.

“What I want is that we are all really ready for this game tomorrow. We need an atmosphere…they will defend deep.

“It’s a good position but that’s only a basis for the next few games.

“We need to be ready for a difficult game tomorrow. And they always have opportunities with counter attacks or set pieces to score themselves.

“We have to be at our best tomorrow.”
