Liverpool’s move for winger could be hijacked by Juve – reports
Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt has emerged as a target for Serie A side Juventus, according to reports.
The German has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League side Liverpool with the club reportedly being in pole position for his signature.
However, reports in France suggest that scouts from Juventus will be in Germany on Tuesday night to watch Brandt in Leverkusen’s Champions League last-16 clash with Atletico Madrid.
The 20-year-old has produced some brilliant performances for the Bundesliga side this season, scoring three goals and providing six assists in all competitions.
There is a £10.7 million release clause in his current deal that expires in 2019 but the clause only becomes active in 2018.
But Brandt seems keen to sign a new deal at the club, he was quoted recently as saying: “We’re constantly in good talks. If it were up to me, the summer would be the right time [to renew]. I don’t want to deal with this forever.”
