David de Gea primed for exit as Man Utd ‘too slow’ over new contract

Manchester United could be set to lose star goalkeeper David De Gea because they were reportedly ‘too slow’ to offer him a new deal.

According to Yahoo Sport, the Red Devils may lose their star shot stopper in the summer due to delays over a new deal.

Speculation about interest from Real Madrid has never been far away from the Spaniard, with reports on Thursday suggesting that Sergio Ramos believes De Gea to be Real’s number one target.

The Spain international has fallen ‘significantly behind’ top earners such as Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba at Old Trafford, meaning his head has been turned elsewhere.

Yahoo state that sources close to the player believe that United should be “doing more to express their commitment to the in-demand shot-stopper”.

The Daily Star claimed earlier in the week however that De Gea is about to be offered £350,000-a-week to stay at Old Trafford, while other reports have suggested he has an £88m price tag.
