The defender has missed Hamilton’s last two matches through suspension after he was sent off against St Johnstone last month.

Defender Jesus Garcia Tena suffered a knock in the 2-0 victory against Motherwell in last Friday’s Lanarkshire derby, but Canning is hopeful he will be fit.

Accies midfielder Danny Redmond is doubtful with a knee problem, while defender Ziggy Gordon and defender Andy Ryan are still out.

Hosts Kilmarnock may be without winger Tope Obadeyi due to a hamstring strain.

The former Bolton man is rated a doubt by manager Gary Locke but midfielder Jamie Hamill has recovered from ankle surgery and could make his first appearance since Valentine’s Day.

Defender Mark Connolly (broken collarbone) and striker Michael Ngoo (ankle) remain unavailable.
