Kilmarnock v St Mirren preview

Date published: Friday 12th September 2014 1:24

The 23-year-old right-back, who left Sheffield United in the summer, signed a two-year deal as a free agent at Rugby Park this week.

It is a welcome boost for the home side who have been embroiled in an unseemly row over bonus payments during the international break.

St Mirren captain Steven Thompson will miss the match after boss Tommy Craig admitted he could not put a timescale on the striker’s return.

Thompson has featured just twice this season after aggravating a groin injury and the Buddies’ medical team are now assessing the former Scotland international on a week-to-week basis.

However, fellow frontman James Marwood could make a  return from a knee injury ahead of the Rugby Park clash.

Kilmarnock v St Mirren preview

Date published: Friday 30th December 2011 12:14

Kilmarnock will assess the fitness of Rory McKeown and James Dayton ahead of the game.

Both went off injured during Wednesday’s defeat by St Johnstone and did not train on Friday, but Kenny Shiels hopes they can take part against Saints.

Danny Buijs (hamstring) and Ryan O’Leary (knee) remain on the sidelines, however.

St Mirren boss Danny Lennon does not expect to have any fresh injury worries.

Graham Carey has been struggling with a back problem but the

midfielder should be fit for the visit to Rugby Park.

That means Lennon should be able to name a similar side to the one who drew with Dundee United in midweek for Monday’s game.

Kilmarnock (from): Bell, Fowler, Pascali, Sissoko, Hay, Kennedy, Shiels, Racchi, Kelly, McKeown, Dayton, Heffernan, Harkins, Jaakkola, Kroca, Pursehouse, Silva, Fisher.

St Mirren (from): Samson, Mair, van Zanten, McAusland, Barron, Tesselaar, McGowan, Carey, Teale, Mooy, Hasselbaink, McLean, Thompson, McShane, Thomson, Smith, Murray, McKee.
