Klopp explains angry reaction to Liverpool fans singing his name

Jurgen Klopp has given his thoughts as to why he reacted angrily towards the Kop in Liverpool’s win over Leicester.

The Reds manager looked visibly unhappy with the crowd when he heard them singing his name midway through the win over the champions at Anfield on Sunday.

Klopp wanted the players to take the credit, and was demonstrably unhappy when he heard Liverpool fans singing their manager’s name.

“Please don’t sing my name before the game is decided,” Klopp said after the match.

“When the Kop started singing it [Leicester] were alone in front of Simon Mignolet.

“I don’t play. It was the same at Arsenal. It is nice but not necessary.

“I am really on the side of the players. I am responsible for our bad performances, they are responsible for the good performances.

Liverpool won the game 4-1, with our player ratings proving extremely complimentary to Sadio Mane and Daniel Sturridge – but less so for the two weak links of the side.
