Jurgen Klopp: Happy with Liverpool performance

Jurgen Klopp was relieved that Liverpool did not completely throw the game away against what he called a “difficult” West Brom side.

Goals from Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho helped the Reds move joint-top of the Premier League table, while Liverpool’s fantastic approach to the game was discussed in our ‘Talking Points’ feature.

Klopp admitted that the Baggies made the game difficult but praised his players for the way they handled the situation.

“I am happy with the performance of my team,” said Klopp to BT Sport. “It is difficult against West Brom, so many balls in the air, they are so dangerous from set pieces.”

“It would have been a joke if we drew today, unbelievable how we played. It was a good performance against a team like this, they were here to get something, we never let them back into the game.

“Their corners kicks are so good, I had feeling 15 players in white kit were in the box.

“It was a big, big challenge to stay cool, stay concentrated. It is a really nice team I am really happy to have these boys around.”
