Klopp responds to Mourinho’s post-match barb

Jurgen Klopp says he is “not interested” in Jose Mourinho’s comments about Liverpool being overhyped.

In the immediate aftermath of Monday’s drab goalless draw with Manchester United, Mourinho made reference to the media’s hype of Klopp’s team.

“They are not the last wonder of the world like you (the media) say they are but they are a very good team so we had to adapt a little to them,” said Mourinho.

Klopp was asked his thoughts about the Portuguese manager’s comments, but refused to be drawn.

“I have no idea what this could mean. I’m not interested, to be honest,” said Klopp on Thursday.

With West Brom next up for Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday evening, Klopp was asked about evolving and trying to find different ways of winning.

“We already did it. We have different plans in the different games. Of course we have to do it,” replied Klopp, who also revealed his delight at the form of Adam Lallana.

“We spoke a lot already about Adam. It was a very intensive game against United and coming in with fresh legs was a good thing.

“He is very important for us but I don’t think his development is that much.

“He brings a lot of quality to the team.

“Since I came he’s been at a constantly high level. It’s all good with Adam, everything is cool.

“Lallana was already captain of Southampton, right? That says a lot. He’s grown in confidence, he’s a real Liverpool player,” added Klopp.
