Ronald Koeman appeared to at least commit his short-term future to Southampton with talks planned next week to discuss next season’s aims.
The Dutchman also told BBC Sport that he is “very happy” at Southampton and is positive about the future after the Saints secured a Europa League spot following their 4-1 win against Crystal Palace.
Koeman was complimentary about Alan Pardew’s beaten side and went on to say he is overjoyed with Southampton’s achievements this season.
“Palace played well but we were very clinical,” said Koeman. “It was not our best game, but the belief and the fight till the last seconds brought the three points.
“Last season was a very special one, but I don’t know what I have to say about this season. 63 points and fifth in the table, it is incredible.”
