Pep Guardiola: Manager struggling to understand form

Since his release from St James’ Park last month the 22-year-old has been searching for a new club, with the keeper – who could sign as a free transfer – having joined Uwe Rosler’s side on trial last week.

Champions League winner Turnbull is also reportedly on Rosler’s radar with either he or Alnwick likely to provide cover for Leeds’ No.1 Marco Silvestri, despite the arrival of Charlie Horton from Cardiff City last month, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Turnbull is currently playing for League One outfit Barnsley and has one year remaining on his current deal at Oakwell.
