Leeds make Avenatti enquiry – Agent

The Uruguayan striker, who stands at 6ft 5in tall, has also been linked with moves to Aston Villa and Watford in recent months, amid reports the Serie B side are ready to cash in on their prized asset.

Avenatti, capped five times by his country, scoring once, is rated in the £3million bracket by Ternana.

Leeds have already snapped up two strikers this summer in Lee Erwin and Chris Wood, so it seems unlikely they’d need another forward with Antenucci, Steve Morison and Billy Sharp also on their books, although the latter is expected leave the club this summer, with former club Sheffield United interested.

Antenucci played alongside Avenatti during their time together at Ternana, and while the Uruguayan’s agent admits Leeds are keen, he says they are yet to make a concrete bid for his client.

“Currently there is no news. For the moment there is nothing new. Felipe is a Ternana player,” Daniel Delgado told Ternana News. “Are Leeds after him? The English club have made enquiries, but nothing more, there is nothing.”
