Leeds United have raided neighbours York City to sign Ryan Edmondson for an undisclosed fee.
The 16-year-old moves to Elland Road on a two-and-a-half-year deal to June 2020 after the forward recently made his first-team debut for the Vanarama National League North outfit when he featured in their 2-1 home victory over Brackley.
Edmonson will link up with the club’s Under 18s academy squad and will also be a part of their Under 23s set-up as Leeds bid to mould the player towards the first team.
Edmonson was born in Harrogate and grew up as a Leeds supporter, with the club’s website claiming he turned down rival interest to sign for his boyhood heroes.
