Sky Bet Championship side Birmingham have decided to take up the option to extend Adam Legzdins’ contract by a further season.

The goalkeeper’s two-year deal he signed in June 2015 was about to end but the option in the club’s favour means he will now remain at St Andrew’s until the summer of 2018.

Legzdins actually began his career with Blues but never made a first-team appearance before rejoining the club.

The 30-year-old has also played for Crewe, Burton, Derby and Leyton Orient and made 13 appearances for Birmingham during the 2016-17 campaign as they secured Championship survival on the final day of the season.
