Bacary Sagna: The fine originally imposed will stand

Leicester and West Brom are both believed to be interested in signing Bacary Sagna, after the defender’s release from Man City this summer.

Brighton, Chelsea, West Ham and Everton were among the names to have been rumoured to be interested in the 34-year-old’s signature during the summer – but nothing materialised.

Leicester and West Brom both registered less than 25 players in their Premier League squads at the start of the month.

That would mean that if one of the two clubs were to sign Sagna, he would be eligible to play for either side immediately.

Sagna started in 14 Premier League games for City last season, whilst making three appearances from the bench.
