Leicester City captain Wes Morgan hailed their victory over Sevilla as one of the greatest nights in the club’s history as they qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals.
Morgan’s goal midway through the first half got the Foxes on their way before a strike from the edge of the box from Marc Albrighton found its way into the net following the break to wrap up a 2-0 win.
In their first-ever Champions League season they will now be competing for a place in the semi-finals against one of Europe’s big boys with Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Real Madrid the sides through so far.
“Incredible. I can’t quite believe it,” Morgan said, speaking to BT Sport. “We are newcomers in the Champions League, didn’t expect to get this far and here we are.
When asked if it was one of greatest nights in the club’s history, Morgan responded: “It must be, I’m not sure if it will happen again but we did it. We proved a lot of people wrong and pulled off the impossible again.
“We will take whoever comes. It is a fantastic night for Leicester. We still need to concentrate on the league but we will enjoy this moment.”
