Leicester City are leading the race to sign £10million-rated Nice midfielder Nampalys Mendy, according to reports.
The Premier League champions have reportedly been tracking the 23-year-old, and according to the Leicester Mercury, the Foxes have had a bid in the region of £10million accepted for the player.
Other Premier League clubs, including West Ham, have reportedly shown interest in acquiring the services of the talented youngster, but Leicester are said to be confident of winning the race for his signature.
Rumours of Leicester’s move for the Frenchman sparked fears that the Foxes were lining up the France under-21 international as a potential replacement for N’Golo Kante, who has been heavily linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium.
However, according to the Leicester Mercury, any potential move for Mendy will have no impact on Kante’s future at the club.
Mendy played under Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri at Monaco, before moving to Nice in 2013 and reports suggest he will fly to England on Monday to finalise personal terms with the Foxes.
