Leicester City are closing in on Fiorentina’s £11.15million-rated attacking midfielder Josip Ilicic, according to reports.
The Sun claim Foxes assistant manager Steve Walsh and director of sport Jon Rudkin were in the stands to watch the Slovenia international in action against Empoli on Sunday.
The Viola lost the Serie A showdown 2-0 with Ilicic playing for 82 minutes in behind the striker before being replaced.
The 28-year-old is attracting interest from several other European clubs after scoring 12 goals in 25 league games, plus two in six Europa League outings.
However Leicester, who are guaranteed Champions League football next season, believe they are in a position to bring Ilicic to the Premier League.
The 6ft 3in free-kick specialist Ilicic has been in Italy since 2010, leaving Palermo in 2013 for Fiorentina for £7.7million plus add-ons.
