Leicester City are preparing to offer a new contract to Joe Dodoo amid reported interest in the young striker from the likes of Arsenal.
Dodoo ‘has long been on the radar of academy scouts across the country’, according to the Daily Mail, with Arsenal said to be among the clubs monitoring the 20-year-old.
Dodoo scored a hat-trick a 4-1 Capital One Cup win over Bury on his senior debut for Leicester last month, and the Foxes now want to tie him down to a long-term contract to safeguard his future at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester, meanwhile, could loan out Dean Hammond, according to the Leicester Mercury.
The midfielder has made only one appearance so far this season, when he captained the side against Bury, and Sheffield United are said to be among the clubs interested in signing him on loan.
Another midfielder, Matty James, is still some way off his return.
“He has started to join in the warm-up before training, which is important for us,” said Ranieri.
“But he needs another three months.”
