Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd were among 10 Premier League clubs to send scouts to watch Benfica’s 1-1 draw with Besiktas on Tuesday.
Bournemouth, West Ham, Crystal Palace, West Brom and Southampton also had representatives at the Champions League clash in Lisbon as Anderson Talisca produced a stunning 93rd-minute free-kick to earn Besiktas a 1-1 draw against his parent club Benfica.
The Portuguese team led for much of the evening after Franco Cervi’s early effort but Talisca rescued the visitors with a fine set-piece strike and that will have sure to impressed the watching talent spotters.
Liverpool were linked with a move for Talisca in the summer. The Sun claimed the Reds and Wolves were lining up a move for the 22-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder.
The player’s agent Jorge Mendes was trying to broker a deal for his client to move to England but it’s understood work permit problems made the move complicated and instead Talisca moved to Turkey on a two-year loan.
