Emre Can admits Liverpool are fully focused on success in the Europa League – and believes victory would put a smile on the city’s face.
Jurgen Klopp’s side claimed a place in the semi-finals of the competition after a dramatic 5-4 aggregate win over Borussia Dortmund and now face Spanish side Villarreal for a place in the final next month.
And Can, who left Anfield on crutches following Thursday’s victory, insists the club are hell-bent on winning the Europa League.
“We want to win that trophy,” said Can.

“There are still good teams left in it and the semi-final won’t be easy but we just have to keep believing in ourselves.
“Going through is a big achievement because Dortmund are such a good team.
“This is a big result and this is for everyone, it’s for the whole city.”
Holders Sevilla, chasing a third successive Europa League title, take on Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in the other semi-final.
The ties will be played on April 28 and May 5, with Liverpool set to host the second leg.
