Predicting England’s starting XI

As far as starting line up, I think it will be different for the first 2 games than the 3rd, in reality we shouldn’t need to much defensive strength in midfield for the first 2, so thinking he will want to stick to three at the back throughout, 3-4-3 I would say for the first 2,

Butland
Stones – Smalling – Maguire
Walker – Henderson – Ali – Young
Sterling – Kane – Rashford

Belgium Game

Butland
Stones – Smalling – Maguire
Walker – Henderson – Dier – Delph
Sterling – Kane – Ali

With Rashford, Lingard, and Vardy to come on and stretch the defence in the last quarter if requied.

Arteta shouldn’t get the job just because he’s worked with Pep

I am taking all the speculation with a pinch of salt at the moment but the press seem to think this is happening. I don’t know why we would go down this road as he has no experience of managing even a youth team? Just because he worked alongside Pep and knows the club is that enough to get the job? If we were going to go down the ex player route at least Viera has managed. He would not be on my short list what does every one else think?

Xhaka is a truly awful player who is a major liability

This topic is hilarious. To suggest that Xhaka is underrated and is in fact a great player because certain stats prove it is the stupidest thing I have ever read on here. It is however topped by a subsequent stamens in the same post claiming Mustafi has winning mentality and provides leadership. Whenever a Football Manager nerd starts rambling about ‘stats’ I know Im dealing with someone who knows absolutely nothing about football. Xhaka is a truly awful player who is a major liability, his passing is wayward, his tackling appalling, he doesnt mark, he doesnt track, he has the turning circle of an aircraft carrier and he is a mobile as a telephone box. Once he appoint a new manager Xhaka will be out of the door, he’s not even Championship standard. As for Mustafi being a winner with leadership qualities words fail me at the utter stupidity of that comment. Truly staggering footballing ignorance.

Enrique would be my choice as new Chelsea boss

Have to say I’m relieved that Sarri is signing a contract extension. Just a gut feeling but I think he would have been a massive mistake.

I’d still like Enrique, but I think Deschamps is a good shout too.

If we were to sign Benitez people need to get over the comments he made about Chelsea. He was doing his job for his club at the time, by any means possible. And I’d expect nothing less from our manager too.

Mane, Salah and Firmino could rip Real’s defence to shreds

I feel optimistic, I think the pressure is on Real. The wider world expects us to lose, we are just here for the party. Whereas Real was sporting “13th” T-shirts after Munich match, they expect to win and with a worldwide audience, I think they may fall into the trap of trying to outplay us as Roma and Man city tried to do. Please god, I hope they try to outplay us, that’s exactly what we want as soon as that happens Mane, Salah and Firmino will probably rip their defence to shreds.

Liverpool still at least 4 players from a solid spine

Sometimes, a manager has to be ruthless when building a natural CL, EPL title winning/ challenging team. Players like Milner and Karius are playing well at present but we should not be hesitate of signing an upgrade once we have the right target and enough money. Let alone players like Lovern and Sturridge.

With the coming of Naby Keita, we are still at least 4 players from a solid spine. GK, CB, DM and one attacking player for rotation. It will be our top priority in summer.

Man Utd’s centre-back pairing is the real problem

I think Smalling has played a lot because he’s been the only one fit!
Actually think Jose prefers Jones, Bailly, Rojo, in that order, before Smalling and then there’s Lindelof!

I actually think the majority of Utds problems currently stem from not having a decent and reliable CB pairing. The volume of shots they allow on goal is ridiculous. The CB’s and Matic should be blocking an awful lot more than they are. Once they do then the rest can attack with more intent knowing the goal is protected.

Chelsea fan admits Man Utd are favourites for FA Cup

I have to admit United enter this final as favourites. and rightfully so as they finished runners up and is in good form. on the other hand Chelsea are not playing up to our standard. we have had so many below par displays this season, most notably against the Magpies at St James park. but everything can change quickly, in sports 24 hrs is a very long time and i’m hoping we regroup and face United with good frame of mind.

The other thing that makes United the favorites is the fact that, Mourinho hasn’t lost a final at Wembley. and overall his record in the cup finals is good. on the other hand Conte has never won a knock out tournament. i was surprised to read that this morning. here is me hoping that we pull off this very difficult game.
