‘Mourinho will have absolutely no problem setting up super defensively’

Liverpool fans preview Old Trafford trip

Klopp must have a plan for their defence which is the weakest part of their game ! Difficult if they sit back but chinks in armour perhaps?
Lindelof? Smalling? Is Jones fit?
Bailly was their best by a mile but not sure now.
Lovren to sit on Lukaku?
VvD is key

We have an ordinary record at their joint & I can remember us going well in seasons past until we faced them at their place & coming away disappointed. I really cannot see us winning this.

We’re definitely gonna win because Lovren has done one of his special big match pre game interviews and third time is a charm lol

Last time against Spurs it was “I’m on pain killers” and we lost. Then against Spurs again it was “I’ve recovered my form” and we got a draw. So this time he’s saying Liverpool world never play for a draw… So this time we gotta win… Please God!

I’ve absolutely no doubt we won’t win hightown.

I dont mind losing once we turn up. if we turn up and go down with a wimper then its the same old story.

Go there and actually do something. We are doing well this season but i don’t take this as the norm and i wont until we are doing it season after season.

I should be very confident that we will finish top 4 but im not. we are playing really really well but with us, you just never know whats around the corner.

And its not really the usual from me. I thought we would draw at west ham and said we would drop points at swansea but for most of the season, I’ve fancied us to win.

You cant get carried away as its us.

People say karius and vvd are doing well but they feck up tomorrow and thats all forgotten. It just takes one bad game for the media/pundits etc to get all over our players and our defence.

We have a really good side but i don’t have full belief in them yet.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we won.
We’re in really good form at the min with positivity swarming through the squad whereas the Utd squad is full of problems.
My issue is that Mourinho will have absolutely no problem setting up super defensively to nullify any danger we could pose plus there’s De Gea to beat also.
I find it interesting that he’s been having a go at the crowd at Old Trafford recently and indeed this week and yet he serves up the style of football he does.
This is something we could use to our advantage.

Man Utd fear open encounter

I’d take a draw now but if we play an expansive game it could end in tears. Here’s hoping Mourinho is as pragmatic as ever.

Total shutdown for most the game. I always like to think we’ll win so I’ll go for 1-0 with McTominay getting the winner!

Mike2005

0-0. Snoozefest. Smalling sent off. While fighting with his even more ugly half-brother Jones, hahaha.

San Siro heroics

Pleasing and very professional performance. Well done lads.
Watching Arsenal play today made me wonder why we can’t do this more often. Is it complacence not to say arrogance? This is why I believe a tough guy like Simeone would probably improve the team in less than no time. All in all glad we played well and duly won.

Well that was much better!

Wenger clearly struggles to get the team motivated for every game but league cup final aside in important cup games he still manages it. Even if it’s not a conscious thing the players know he will soon be leaving so when things aren’t going are way they know the criticism will go to him, which I think partly explains recent capitulations. Most managers can’t get to five years without going stale let alone 22!

At the end of Graham’s era it was the same, good in the cups average in the league. I remember in 93 we won the ‘cup double’ and finished 10th in the league I thought it was a great season.

I think we have a good chance of winning this competition. It would be great if we could get back in champions league and Wenger leave on a high.

Great performance by the lads and they deserve credit for that.

But Milan had they not watched our games when pressed we make mistakes at the back and they decide to sit back. I dont think they will do it at our ground. So its not done and dusted this.

You could still see that they could pass one ball and cut through the whole midfield. We still gave away the ball where the passing was really bad. But Milan did not take advantage of it.

So great win but i wont get carried away because its not the first time this happens. I was not exoecting it either but I do wonder what would happen if Milan presses us harder.

It’s not the first time in recent years that, in the middle of a poor run of form, we pull out a result that no one saw coming but we invariably go back to being sh*t almost immediately.

For now, I’m just going to enjoy a great win but I really wouldn’t count on us going all the way just yet – or even talking about it. This tie isn’t even over yet and while a two, away-goal lead is more than I think any of us hoped for, our team are experts at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

As for Wenger, I’d love to see him walk away with one final trophy added to his haul but winning the thing would almost certainly see him stay for another season at least. Don’t get me wrong, if I have to choose, I’ll take the trophy but it’ll be a very temporary high. For as long as Wenger is manager, there will be no massive and lasting upturn in our form – just temporary blips that always seem to happen in time to save him his job for another season.
