‘Liverpool need maximum haul in next four to stay in mix’

Oli Fisher

Wayne Rooney is criticised by Manchester United fans, while Liverpool’s next run of fixtures is assessed by anxious supporters.

Imperious Imps

Incredible from Lincoln no non League club since QPR 103 years ago have been in the Qtr Finals of the FA Cup and Lincoln do what Chelsea couldn’t do last week by beating Burnley on their own patch.

nine nine nine

Brilliant result for Lincoln. Hope they get an away televised draw against one of the big PL clubs. Massive payday for the non league side. The magic of the FA Cup hey. Stoked for them.

Time to go for Rooney?

Apparently Jones, Carrick, Mkhitaryan and Rooney are injured. Obviously we will need to rest some players but it’d be dangerous to play a team full of youngsters.
Would be good to see the following XI:
Romero
Darmian, Bailly, Rojo, Shaw
Fosu-Mensah, Blind
Lingard, Pogba, Martial
Rashford.

Well apart from Miki I won’t miss any of ’em homer. In fact, the quicker Rooney kn*bs off to China the better. He’s getting paid 300k a week for absolutely f*** all.

Chelsea scrape through

A win yes, but boy we were dreadful for the first hour keeper never had a save to make
And I can’t see why some seen terry and Ake as immense, must of been watching a different game me, come on lads it was wolves who are really struggling lately.

careful what you wish for, after all Lincoln did beat Burnley at home, it’s a funny old game.

bluepylon

Wouldn’t say anyone played immense but the defence played okay. Terry’s pace will get caught out in the prem. I personally just don’t rate Ake at all. He’s just an average player at the moment. Thought hazard was our worst player on the pitch. Did absolutely nothing really. Pedro has to start ahead of Willian as I’ve said before. The best thing that happened yesterday was costa getting a goal. Hopefully he will kick on and go on another run again

Foxes must stop the rot

Claudio Ranieri: Nothing going right at Leicester

Dilly-ding dilly-dong

I really fear the worst for Ranieri and the Foxes in their Champions League game against the cup kings of Sevilla, who have won the Europa League three years in a row and flying high in La Liga this season.

I don’t know whether as far as this season has gone, being involved in more than one competition has been more of a difficult challenge in delivering optimum performances and results.

One of the factors contributing to a difficult season will always revert back to the point of selling Kante and not really strengthening in the right areas of the pitch.

Of course, nobody ever expected Leicester to show any form of defence to their epic PL Title win, but they have regressed now to the point of finding themselves in all but relegation territory.

They’ve been here before and fortunes can be turned around. But is the CL comp for them a distraction they now want to see the back of or do they want to give it their all in what seems at the expense of PL status?

There’s demands that players in that squad need to step up to if selected in the starting 11 and quite simply, if any of them aren’t pulling their weight, then quite simply, they should be dropped and bring in some of the fringe players or the kids who might just surprise people.

Ranieri needs to take stock in that dressing room to reenforce awareness of the team’s current plight and quite simply needs to pull everybody together, lay down the law, but moving forward positively with belief and confidence.

That key characteristic/s in fight and being fearless has somewhat been taken out of them.

p.s. I hope in spite of my suggestion, they don’t all of a sudden turn it on against us!

Points needed for Liverpool

Has to be six points from the Leicester and Burnley games as we’ve Arsenal at home and City away either side of those two and anything can happen there.

Knowing us we’re more likely to drop points against Leicester and Burnley and beat both City and Arse.

I think we’ll be full strength going into the Monday night game and the team should pick itself. You feel tho Origi and Sturridge have to play a part in those four games somewhere. Sturridge at Leicester and home to Burnley maybe?

One area I wouldn’t piss about with and that’s the midfield triumvirate of Hendo, Wij and Lallana. They’re alright and don’t need tinkering with. Maybe Can for Lallana if he gets cream crackered.

Lovren should be back for Leicester and that’ll be a nice warm up for him before the Arsenal game the following Saturday.

Leicester are bloody awful, really bloody awful. No shape, no organisation and no passion. I feel for Ranieri as I like him. The players are paid an awful lot of money to perform and they’re not.

You feel that our front line should take care of them and create a lot of chances. BIG four games ahead and at least 9/10 points out of those to keep in that top four/pressure second.
