Liverpool midfield target Naby Keita has been likened to Chelsea star N’Golo Kante and will only continue to improve.
Keita has been strongly linked with a switch to Anfield this summer, although RB Leipzig want £70million for the Guinea midfielder.
The 22-year-old has only played one full season in Europe’s top leagues but was outstanding for Leipzig, scoring eight goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances.
And according to former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen, his signing would be a real coup for whoever gets him.
“He does remind me of Kante,” Meulensteen said on BBC Radio 5 Live.
“He’s got unbelievable energy, he’s all over the place. He intercepts balls, he starts off attacks.
“He’s dynamic, he goes forward, he’s just an exciting player to watch that’s only going to get better and better.”
However, European football expert Mina Rzouki admits Leipzig are not keen on letting any of their prize assets leave this summer, with Timo Werner also linked with Liverpool.
Rzouki said: “Timo Werner as well. All those players thought if they had a great year then perhaps they’d be able to go to different clubs.
“They are under a lot of criticism because of course Leipzig are not the most liked club.”
