Liverpool target Gotze ‘not satisfied’ at Bayern, says Muller

Mario Gotze: Liverpool target free to leave Bayern Munich

Mario Gotze: Heading back to Dortmund

Thomas Muller believes reported Liverpool target Mario Gotze is not 100 per cent happy at Bayern Munich.

The 23-year-old Gotze has only started five Bundesliga games this season under Pep Guardiola and the attacking midfielder, who broke through at Borussia Dortmund under Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, is believed to be considering his future.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a summer move for Germany star and with Klopp expected to offload Christian Benteke and Mario Balotelli he will need to add some attacking power to his squad.

And Gotze’s Bayern and Germany team-mate Muller believes Gotze could be looking to move on.

“I’ve talked to Mario, of course we’ve talked in the dressing room and I fully appreciate that he might not be satisfied at Bayern Munich. From a purely sporting point of view, of course you want to be on the pitch, you want to be showing the public what you can do,” Muller told a press conference.

“As far as him signing for another club is concerned, I’m not his advisor or his agent so I would wish for him to stay at Bayern Munich but you never know in this world so I don’t talk about potential new clubs with Mario Gotze,” Muller added.

Gotze was set for January talks with Bayern’s sporting director Matthias Sammer, but those negotiations are not believed to have taken place.

Sammer has described talk of Gotze leaving Bayern in January as “madness” but Gotze, who has a contract until 2017, is desperate for first-team football and he has revealed he is still in contact with Klopp via regular text messages.

Gotze, who has previously denied all talk of a move to Anfied, has scored 34 times in 105 appearances in all competitions for Bayern during his three seasons in Bavaria.
