Liverpool to rival Arsenal for wantaway Real Madrid attacker

Liverpool are reportedly set to battle it out with Arsenal for Real Madrid star Lucas Vazquez, who is keen to leave the Bernabeu this summer.

The report in the Daily Mirror claims that the Reds could lure the Spanish winger with the promise of an attack-minded brand of football that has helped both Mo Salah and Sadio Mane thrive at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp could be looking to add Vazquez as cover, according to reports in Spain, although Real Madrid’s interest in Salah may see conversations over a potential swap deal take place, with a hefty fee tagged on to convinced the Reds into selling.

Vazquez has proven to be a real favourite of Zinedine Zidane, despite struggling to hold down a regular first-team spot at the Bernabeu.

And that lack of game time is what has prompted both the Reds and the Gunners to move for the 26-year-old, particularly with Real likely to cull a number of their players this summer in a major squad revamp.
