Liverpool are on the verge of signing Mainz goalkeeper Lorius Karius and intend to move quickly for further targets in Germany and Italy.
Karius has arrived on Merseyside for a medical, according to the Liverpool Echo, as he prepares to complete a £4.7million transfer which will be confirmed by the Reds later this week.
The 22-year-old will become the club’s third signing of the summer, following Joel Matip and Marko Grujic, but Jurgen Klopp has no plans to stop there in his rebuilding.
Bayern Munich forward Mario Gotze is widely reported to be a target, while the Echo says Klopp is also keen on Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud.
ESPN FC, meanwhile, claim Udinese and Poland midfielder Piotr Zielinski, 22, is also on the Reds’ list of targets as they look to get their transfer business done as quickly as possible.
Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell has also been linked with a move to Anfield.
