Antonio Conte: Manager often animated on touchline

Lowton joined the Clarets on a three-year deal as a replacement for Kieran Trippier who quit the Championship club for Tottenham last week.

The right full-back told the Burnley website: “Things went pretty quickly from when the club showed a bit of interest. Straight away I said yes because I just want to go and play football every week.

“It’s been a little frustrating lately but the manager here said I’d play a lot of football and I’m really looking forward to getting started.

“I had two years left on my contract, but I haven’t played enough football in the last year and I’ve worked hard growing up to be a footballer. I don’t want to come on a Saturday and watch other players do it.

“There were a few clubs interested, but Burnley belong in the Premier League and hopefully I can come in and help us get back up.”

Lowton, whose career began at Sheffield United, added: “I knew Kieran Trippier was leaving and there was a space
where I play, so it was a bit of a no-brainer really to come and play football for a team that is pushing for promotion.

“I had a fantastic experience at Villa and the first season I was there I played pretty much every minute of every game. I got so much experience up there with the players I played alongside and the managers and coaches.

“Although it hasn’t worked out as much as I would have liked, the experience I have gained there has been priceless and hopefully I can take that into next season.”
