Lucas insists Liverpool’s players are willing to put in a shift against Rubin Kazan and help Jurgen Klopp to his first win as Reds boss.
The German took charge of his first game for the club in Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Tottenham, with Jamie Carragher amongst those hailing the impact Klopp has had at Anfield.
But speaking ahead of the Europa League Group B clash with Russians at Anfield, Lucas said all the players were determined to ensure their new manager can enjoy his first win.
“The game against Spurs was positive and everybody is looking forward to keeping working and improving,” he said.
“We have a very honest group and want to improve. We are trying to take on [Jurgen’s] ideas as soon as possible.
“Everyone is really excited. European nights are special and I think tomorrow is going to be a good atmosphere.”
“We are looking forward to getting our first win [under Klopp] but we just need to approach games in the same way [as we did against Spurs].”
