Lukaku and midfield kingpin back for Man Utd ahead of FA Cup tie

Romelu Lukaku will be fit to face Derby in the FA Cup third round at Old Trafford tomorrow.

The 15-goal striker missed the New Year’s Day win at Everton as a precaution, but is back in the frame against the Championship high-flyers, according to United boss Jose Mourinho.

“It was not a concussion; it was a precaution, a protection for him. He wanted to play against Everton, but this time he is back, ” Mourinho told MUTV.

Lukaku has started 21 Premier League games for United, but sat out the recent 2-0 win at Everton after picking up a bang on the head in the goalless draw at home to Southampton on Saturday.

Anthony Martial filled in for Lukaku up front at Everton and the Frenchman will be hoping to keep his starting place with a move to the left wing.

United will also welcome back Marouane Fellaini, who has been sidelined since November with a knee problem.

“Romelu is OK and from the injured players, Fellaini is back and Michael Carrick is back to training, not competition but is back to training with the team.

“Antonio Valencia will be back to the team next week, so not playing tomorrow, so the situation is improving for us,” added Mourinho.
