Lyon manager Bruno Genesio has hailed Memphis Depay after he impressed on his debut for the club.
Depay joined Lyon for £16million from Manchester United last Friday, and was immediately thrown into action against Marseille on Sunday.
The winger came on as a 78th-minute substitute of the 3-1 victory, with his new manager wasting no time in praising his efforts.
“He showed that he could integrate into the game philosophy,” Genesio told OLTV.
“I’ve already seen a technical relationship with the other players and I liked his defensive work.
“He lacks the rhythm of matches but he is physically well. He has so much desire. This is an additional asset and variety for our team.”
