Lyon president Michel Aulas has re-demonstrated the club’s determination to keep Alexandre Lacazette by rejecting a £43m bid from West Ham.
Lacazette has been the subject of strong interest from the both the Hammers and Arsenal this summer and has kept on hitting the headlines after scoring a hat-trick for Lyon in their Ligue 1 opener against Nancy.
The 25-year-old has continued his rich vein of goalscoring form and currently has six league goals in just three appearances, but the seven-time Ligue 1 champions remain adamant that the French striker is going nowhere before deadline day.
Aulas told French broadcaster SFR Sport: “We rejected a bid from West Ham for £43m for Lacazette.”
The Hammers are still believed to be interested in adding another striker to their squad, despite the recent arrival of Simone Zaza from Juventus.
