Marlos Moreno: Linked with move to Man City.

Manchester City are believed to have struck a deal with Colombian wonderkid Marlos Moreno despite interest from other clubs, according to reports.

According to the Daily Mail, City have fended off competition from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including the likes of Manchester United and Benfica, for the signature of Atletico Nacional midfielder Moreno.

Also according to the claims City have already held positive talks with Nacional over the player’s services and have even agreed a fee of around £8million for the player.

However if a transfer was to be completed it is possible that Moreno will head out on loan to the La Liga for the new season as Guardiola is looking to give the winger some European football experience in Spain. Barcelona are even said to have sent scouts to Colombia during the year to keep tabs on the young prodigy.

Moreno, 19, who scored his first international goal for Colombia at this month’s Copa America, has risen to prominence in the last year and is now dubbed as one of the top talents to come out of South America this year.

Since signing for Atletico Nacional in 2014 the midfielder has gone on to make 26 appearances for the club along with scoring five goals for the first team and even went on to make his Copa Libertadores debut back in February.

Guardiola looks certain to be revamping his squad with the signing of Moreno as he prepares for his first taste of Premier League football and is also keen to clinch a deal for Celta Vigo and Spain striker Nolito.

However on Sunday, Nolito confirmed that he hasn’t had contact from Guardiola or Barcelona boss Luis Enrique just yet but is flattered by the interest.

“It is a matter of pride if two major coaches like Luis Enrique and Guardiola notice you and are interested,” Nolito said.

“I am lucky that I am being considered, and that strengthens me, but I’m focused on the Euros and nothing else. I have not spoken to either of them.”
