Manchester City and Manchester United are both interested in signing Tottenham left-back Danny Rose in January, according to reports.
The Daily Mirror believe the former are at the front of the queue to sign him as Pep Guardiola is desperate to strengthen his defensive options, even more so after the humiliating 4-2 defeat at the hands of Leicester City.
The Spaniard has predominantly played with three defenders at the back with usual left-backs Aleksandar Kolarov and Gael Clichy being used as central defenders, but he has reportedly been given a budget to spend within the next six weeks to bolster his squad in the full-back areas.
The Red Devils are also keeping tabs on the England international as Jose Mourinho remains unconvinced that Luke Shaw has what it takes to be the first-choice left-back for the years to come.
Rose is one of many Tottenham first-team members to sign a new contract with the North London club this season and revealed he wanted to “grow old” with the team he joined in 2007 from Leeds United.
However, that is not set to stop Manchester City or Manchester United from testing Tottenham’s resolve in the January transfer window.
