Man City in battle to secure Fulham starlet – report
Manchester City are apparently ready to step up their interest in Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon.
This is according to Sportsmail, who state City targeted the 16-year-old in August and have been monitoring his progress this season.
However, they face competition from Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United, with the Gunners seeing a £3million January offer rejected.
Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic is understandable keen to hold on to the young talent.
“He is a very interesting project as a player, but it is better not to put him under any pressure,” Jokanovic said.
The Serb, speaking to BBC Radio London, added: “He is a young player and he will participate in the future and help us. He has many years of being a player ahead of him.
“It is not a question of if someone is 16 or 36, if you are ready to play football, it is not important how old you are. Leeds was the first time he played in the Championship and he did a very good job.”
Sessegnon would not be the first high-profile Fulham youngster to complete a switch to the Sky Blues as Patrick Roberts made a £13million move to the Manchester.
Roberts, now on loan at Celtic, scored against his parent club in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with City at the Etihad Stadium.
